Overview

Travel is the most exciting and thrilling experience that gives a break to our routine life. But on the other hand, it can be troublesome and exhausting when it comes to planning a trip.

Travelers’ Pain Points

  • Travelers want to save time on planning a trip

  • Travelers want to have unique experiences

  • Travelers want to feel safe at unfamiliar area

Solution

  • Provide every information for the trip including location, timetable, budget, transportation, personal tip, etc.

  • Provide authentic and unique trips scheduled by verified local planners.

  • Provide chat, call, sending location services, and even a on-call duty for a person who signed up for SOS features.

Business Model

  • Planners can earn commissions from multiple travelers who are going on his or her trips.

  • Travelers can save time on scheduling a trip, have unique experiences, and feel comfortable because their planners are available to contact at anytime!

User Research

One of participating designer, Lillian Choi, reached out to her extended LinkedIn network for contextual inquiry to identify user needs and wants in a travel app, user pain points with the current market platforms, and potential stressors when planning for trips.

According to participants, they felt that:

✔️ Finding places to visit and eat is the hardest (18/20)

✔️ Planning to avoid touristy, mainstream places is difficult without a local's guidance (19/20)

✔️ Feeling lost and unsafe was common when visiting unfamiliar places on their own (15/20)

✔️ Budgeting and looking for discounts and good deals is time-consuming and often unsuccessful (16/20)

✔️ Self-planned tours are preferred over completely guided tours (19/20)

Williams Family

All three user groups hold unique, new activities and places of high importance. Their primary motivations, however, are different for visiting Los Angeles, CA. The solo traveler is visiting LA for the first time and would like a local to help her out when needed. The Tiktok influencer couple simply wants fun, picture-worthy places to visit. Lastly, family with two kids is local to the area, but they are seeking specific activities for their kids to visit.
